Almost two years ago, on October 7, 2023, Hamas leaders abroad watched in real time monstrous crimes being committed in southern Israel.
Crimes carried out by the terrorist organization’s « militants » in the villages and kibbutzim of southern Israel from the shelter of Turkey. Crimes filmed and posted live. Iran’s long-planned operation, remotely controlled, had succeeded beyond their expectations. The leaders could be seen congratulating themselves on their “success” before prostrating themselves to give thanks to Allah – the Almighty and Merciful.
Since then, these « heroes » of the Palestinian cause have been living peacefully in Qatar with their family members. The Emir had provided them with superb residences and they enjoyed total freedom of movement which allowed them to do fruitful business. What was happening in Gaza, and « the suffering of the Palestinian people » was not overly bothering them and they were in no hurry to find a solution, and kept on making excessive demands as a condition for releasing the hostages and ending the confrontation which was taking a heavy toll on their own people.
As for the Emir under whose auspices the negotiations took place, he did not even try to exercise the enormous means of pressure at his disposal to convince the recalcitrants. Yet a word from him would probably have sufficed, if not to bring about freedom for the hostages, at least to ensure humane conditions for their detention and regular visits from the Red Cross.
Thus, there was every justification for the daring raid carried out by Israel in Doha, the capital of the emirate. Their target? A meeting of Hamas leaders attended by those who had rejoiced at the massacre they had ordered and had given thanks for the success of this « heroic deed ». The result of that strike carried out nearly two thousand kilometers from Israel is still unclear.
What we are seeing however is the usual double standard: a hail of condemnations for the Jewish state seeking retribution for atrocities committed on its soil; not only not a single word of censure for Qatar which so willingly hosts terrorists but a flood of messages of support and condolences for the Emir.
The Security Council is due to convene urgently. Forgetting his domestic woes, French President Emmanuel Macron strongly condemned Israeli strikes on the Hamas leadership in Doha and expressed his « solidarity with Qatar and its emir, Sheikh Tamim Al Thani. » He has probably forgotten that the emir is the owner of the Al Jazeera channel, the main propaganda organ of the Muslim Brotherhood. You know, the Brotherhood that is being seen as a looming danger in Europe – and in France.
Barely a month ago, the Ministry of the Interior published a report entitled « Muslim Brotherhood and Political Islamism in France ». It seems that no one is ready to acknowledge an indisputable truth: It is, however, essential to proclaim that Israel had the right and the duty to hunt down these bloodthirsty leaders so that some justice could be done for the victims – as well as to serve as a warning.
